End-to-End Logistics Management

Physical commodity trading is only as reliable as the logistics chain behind it. Materials Traders manages the complete transportation and delivery process for every transaction, from the point of origin through to final discharge at the buyer's nominated port or terminal.

Our logistics capability covers vessel chartering and scheduling, ship-to-ship (STS) transfer coordination, terminal loading and discharge operations, customs and port documentation, and coordination with internationally recognised inspection agencies for quality and quantity verification.

We work with established shipbrokers, vessel operators and terminal facilities to ensure that every delivery is executed safely, on time and in full compliance with international maritime regulations and the specific requirements of each transaction.

Our Capabilities

Materials Traders has the operational infrastructure to manage complex, multi-jurisdictional petroleum deliveries across every major shipping route.

01

Vessel Chartering

We charter vessels on both a voyage and time-charter basis through established shipbroking relationships. Our chartering desk manages vessel selection, vetting, scheduling and laytime calculations to optimise cost and delivery timing for each transaction.

02

Ship-to-Ship Transfers

We coordinate STS transfer operations at designated anchorages worldwide. All STS operations are conducted in accordance with OCIMF and ICS guidelines, with full risk assessment, fender management and mooring master supervision.

03

Terminal Operations

Materials Traders manages loading and discharge operations at terminals globally, coordinating berth scheduling, pipeline connections, tank allocation and shore-side logistics to ensure efficient cargo handling.

04

Inspection & Documentation

Every shipment is independently inspected by internationally recognised surveying agencies. We manage the full documentation chain including bills of lading, certificates of origin, quality certificates and customs declarations.

Delivery Terms

We structure deliveries under internationally recognised Incoterms to match the specific commercial and logistical requirements of each buyer. Our team has extensive experience managing deliveries under CIF, FOB, CFR and DES terms, and we are able to accommodate custom arrangements where the commercial situation requires it.

All charter party agreements, shipping documents and insurance arrangements are prepared in advance and reviewed by our commercial and legal teams to ensure that both parties' interests are fully protected throughout the delivery process.

Global Shipping Routes

Materials Traders operates along the world's principal petroleum shipping corridors. We have direct experience managing cargo movements through the Strait of Hormuz, the Suez Canal, the Strait of Malacca, the Cape of Good Hope route, the Mediterranean basin and transatlantic routes.

Our familiarity with the regulatory, operational and security considerations specific to each route allows us to plan and execute deliveries with a high degree of reliability, even in regions where logistical complexity is significant.

For each transaction, we prepare a detailed logistics plan covering vessel scheduling, port calls, laydays, demurrage provisions and contingency arrangements. This plan is agreed with the buyer in advance and forms part of the contractual documentation.
